Wayne Hill Bergeron, 70, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born May 9, 1949, in Opelousas, Louisiana, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War (1969-1970). He was a member of VFW Post #1 and 589th Engineer Battalion (Mountain Movers). His interests included his family and friends, especially those he could “prank” although he did not like to be pranked. Wayne played guitar and piano by ear; he loved to fish and build things of wood. He also enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. Survivors include his wife, Gayle; children: Wayne Thomas (Wendy) Bergeron, Robert Paul (Connie) Bergeron, Daniel Glen (Jordan) Rupert, Lisa B. Duff, Melissa (Willie) Ducotey, and Patricia (Zeb) Duhon; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richie, and a sister, Libby; many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Hevrin J. Bergeron Jr. and Willie Pearl (Hill) Bergeron; brothers, Stevie and Ross Bergeron; a sister, Susan B. Green; and a granddaughter, Carly Rupert. Services are not planned at this time. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
