Virginia Pearl Carroll, 84, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, at EagleCrest Nursing & Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born December 19, 1935, near Lepanto, Arkansas, to Bryce and Fannie Mae Nevills Terrell, both of whom preceded her in death. Virginia was baptized into the Church of God in 1980 in Earle, Arkansas, and lived the rest of her life devoted to the Lord. She loved her family as she worked as a wonderful housewife and homemaker, especially cooking for them. Her hobbies included listening to gospel music, working crossword puzzles and other puzzle books, watching television, and visiting amusement parks and carnivals, always finding the scariest rides for fun. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Carroll; five sisters: Louise, Hazel, Laverne, Pauline, and Ellen; and five brothers: Roy, Ed, James, Bunk, and Thornton. Survivors include her husband, J. L. Carroll; her children: Brenda (James) Young, Danny Carroll, and Michael Carroll, all of Horseshoe Bend; five grandchildren: Chris Young, Timothy (Brandy) Carroll, Gary Carroll, Jeff (Karen) Young, and Jason Carroll; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and good friends. Visitation of family and friends will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 2, in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Jim Cox officiating. Burial will be in Agnos Cemetery.
