Verba Mae Kellett, 94, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away February 4, 2019, at Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born March 1, 1924, in Williford, Arkansas, to Levi Andrew and Gracie Lou Ann (Powell) Smith. Verba Mae was a member of Ward St. Church of Christ in Hardy as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She had worked as a teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Kellett; a son, Kerry Kellett; a sister, Lavern Byers; and two brothers, Thelbert and Levi Smith. Survivors include a son, Jerry and his wife Beverley Kellett of Calico Rock, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Haverstock; four grandchildren: Jerry Scott (Donna) Kellett, Kristin (Michael) Plagge, Allison (Terry) Papp, and Matthew (Grace) Kellett; ten great-grandchildren: Jerry Lee Kellett, Benjamin & Samantha Higgins, James, Matthew, & Hailey Plagge, Breyanna & Zachary Papp, Owen & Clay Kellett; several great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, February 8, in Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, also in the Tri-County Chapel with Bro. John Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Community Cemetery north of Ozark Acres near Williford.
