Tommy Joe Day, 75, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas passed away November 14, 2023 at his home. He was born September 27, 1948 in Stamford, Texas to William and Betty Ruth Herring Day.
His life took him into the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. He then became a truck driver and was a member of the VFW, a locksmith, a certified welder, and an amazing grand Poppa.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Day; and a sister, Janice Sue Goff.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Martin Day; sons: Michael Joe Day, Kevin Martin Day, & Eric Jesse Day (Starr); daughters: Louann Oglesby (Robert), Barbara Joachin (Jason), & Kayla Morgan (Jeremy); 11 grandchildren: Kamren, Kiley, Mason, Ellie, Matthew, Casey, Sophia, Courtlin, Bradley, Kayla, & Destiny; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny and Billy Day; two sisters, Gloria McDermott and Judy Tatum; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and good friends.
A celebration of Tommy's life will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Hardy United Methodist Church at 4th & Spring St. with visitation of family and friends beginning at 1 p.m. and a memorial service following at 2 p.m. Pastor Kay Brogdon will officiate.
Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
