Roy Watkins

Roy Lee Watkins was born September 11, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas and departed this life March 3, 2022 at his home in Williford, Arkansas at the age of 66 years. He was proud of and deeply loved working with the blind at Envision while living in Wichita, Kansas. Roy was a mechanical engineer and played with several bands during high school. He was an accomplished and self-taught musician. The style of Johnny Winters of high energy blues with electric guitar was his all-time favorite to listen to and to recreate. Roy is survived by his wife, Ruth Watkins of the home; four daughters: Robyn Thomas, Tiffani Sullivan, and Tobi Watkins, all of Kansas, and Toni Watkins of Michigan; ten grandchildren; stepson, Bryan Thomas and wife, Sherry, of Kansas; two sisters, Connie Wallace and Linda Apple (Randy); brother, David Watkins; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Anna (Schmidt) Watkins. Services are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
