Rosie Ellis, 82, of Ash Flat, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at White River Health in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born September 27, 1940 in Caraway, Arkansas to Edd and Gineva Ferguson Smith and became a caregiver in the health profession. Rosie was a treasured member of the Johnston St. church of Christ in Hardy, Arkansas. She "lived for the summertime" and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and quilting. She loved her family, especially the grandkids. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.V. Ellis; two brothers, Ewing and Henry Smith; a sister, Lucille Morris; grandson, Justin Ellis; and great-granddaughter, Remi Ellis. Survivors include her sons, Curtis (Pam) of Ash Flat and Patrick (Amanda) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Jodie Lynn Fields, Adam (Samantha) Redd, Brittney Ellis, and Preston Ellis; seven great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Carson, Landon, Merci, Cale, Claire, and Alyssa; a sister, Ruby Hallmark of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers, Larry Smith of Browns Mills, New Jersey and Buddy (Judy) Smith of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; many other loving relatives and good friends. Services will be Friday, December 16, in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home, 1540 Hwy. 62/412, Highland, Arkansas. Visitation of family and friends will start at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral to begin at noon. Don House will officiate. Burial will follow in Bronaugh Cemetery, four miles north of Hardy, U.S. Hwy 63. Pallbearers will be Gary Herum, Marty Whited, Dave Ryan, Rodney Hallmark, Billy Jones, and Chuck Wiles. Honorary Pallbearers include Buddy Smith and Buddy Smith Jr. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
