Above all things, love each other deeply... 1 Peter 4:8 Roger Othel Smith, 82, of Highland, Arkansas, passed away May 10, 2019. He was born May 16, 1936, in Melbourne, Arkansas. He loved his family and farm animals, especially horses and mules, and had worked as a truck driver. He was a member of Liberty Hill Church and a proud veteran of the United States Army. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Wilkon Henry and Bertie Capitola (Copeland) Smith; a brother, John Smith; a sister, Carrie Boatman; granddaughter, Talena Armstead; and great-grandchildren, Breanna Gomez and Easton Walker Smith. Survivors include his wife, Anna Lee (Pogue) Smith; children: Margaret Elaine Gomez, Terrill Richard Smith (Crystal Martin), Julia Eilean (Nelson) Armstead, Donnie Lynn (Gayla) Smith; step-son, Amos Leroy (Melody) Brink; a brother, James Ewell “Fat” (Gaye) Smith; grandchildren: Chelle Gomez, Kelly Gomez, Elizabeth (Nate) Adams, Austin Stark, Brandon Armstead, Wacey (Kenzie) Smith, Matthew (Annie) Brink; great-grandchildren: Tracy Gomez, Greg Matthews, Cutter Matthews, Hannah Ellis, Jackson Jace Adams, and baby Smith (to be born in July); many other relatives; and a multitude of good friends. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Highland Cemetery with Joe Kaiser officiating. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
