Roger Louis Mahaffey, 72, of rural Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at EagleCrest Nursing & Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born April 6, 1950 near Williford, Arkansas to Louis Andrew and Bernece Estelle Rogers Mahaffey. Roger worked in the grocery business and as a riverboat pilot. He loved his family, especially the grand and great-grand kids, sharing stories and knowledge. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a Master Mason. Roger was a "people person" who knew his customers (and their vehicles) and always had a smile and a helpful hand. His passions also included love of the outdoors and working on cars. He went fishing any time he could. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Hall; and a brother, Larry Mahaffey. Survivors include his wife, Linda Grimes Mahaffey; daughters, Susan Powell (Eric) and Teresa Huffmaster (David), all of Williford; a son, Jeff Mahaffey (Kelly) of Pocahontas; nine grandchildren: Devin (Joshua) Travis of Pocahontas, Sean (Whittney) Baggs of Imboden, Arkansas, Cortley (Cheyenne Billings) Rutledge of Hardy, Arkansas, Jordan (Tyler Mullens) Rutledge of Washington, D.C., Casey (Josh) Baggett of Williford, Lindsey (Chase) DeJournett of Imboden, John Huffmaster of Williford, Kaden Botard of Alton, Missouri, and Karson Thielemier of Pocahontas; great-grandchildren: Benjamin & Aiden James and Cameron Kildow, all of Pocahontas, Eleanor Kate Baggs and Tucker, Tatum, & Tye DeJournett, all of Imboden; many other relatives and good friends. A visitation of family and friends will be Saturday, February 25, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland.
