James Aubrey "Pete" Wyatt Jr., 82, of Ash Flat, Arkansas, formerly of Brinkley, passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. He was born in Hunter, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherokee Village and past member of the Presbyterian Church. Pete was active in the Masonic Lodge and volunteered work with Boy Scouts of America and the Brinkley Fire Department (27 years). He enjoyed dancing and board games, technology (especially drones), was a joke teller, and loved to make people smile. His career work involved the National Guard. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, James Aubrey and Aldha Marie (Ridings) Wyatt; his wife, Peggy Sue Wyatt; a brother, Loren Wyatt; a sister, Carol Shackelford; and a grandson, Ethan Wilks Conerly. Survivors include a daughter, Tonya Sandage of Ash Flat; a son, Thomas Wyatt of Georgia; a grandson, Blake Wyatt (Brittany) of Pendleton, Arkansas and a granddaughter, Dakota Andrews (Garrett) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren: Ra-Leigh, Ethan, Preston, and Dylan; his fiancee', Glenda Smith; and many other relatives and good friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 11, at Cherokee Village First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Baker Community Cemetery.
