Marvin Dean VanAalsburg, 80, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, was of the Presbyterian faith and worked as a master packer for Caterpillar, Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His hobbies included woodworking, reading, and fishing. He loved to farm and travel, and he loved the beaches in California. Marvin was born in Sheldon, Iowa, and passed away in Batesville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Elizabeth (Tenson) VanAalsburg, and his wife, Barbara JoAnn. Survivors include his sons and their spouses: Brent & Sheila of Mt. View, Missouri, Bruce & VaNessa of Hardy, Arkansas, and Mark of Harrison, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and good friends. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas.
