Marie Victoria Silano, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died surrounded by loved ones on May 8, 2020, in Fayetteville Arkansas, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 9 days. She was preceded in death last summer by her husband of 68 years, Alfred. Marie was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania, to Peter and Victoria (Pickarski) Katrosh, who both also preceded her in death along with her brother, Peter. Marie was that gal wading barefoot in a creek, laughing over flowers, minnows, and dragonflies. She relished hot cups of tea and heart-to-heart talks and was never too busy to put down her rake to offer a hug. She loved gardening, meeting with friends for dancing or yoga, and baking from scratch. Her biscotti alone should earn her high awards from her Lord in Heaven. A memorial service is planned for the end of June. Survivors include her children: Mark & Blythe Silano, Annie & Colin Moore, Martha & Lang Cook, Matthew & Robin Silano; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her brother and his wife, John & Judy Katrosh; and the love of her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. The family had a graveside service and burial Sunday, May 10, at the Katrosh Family Cemetery on the Cedar Curtain Ranch in Center, Arkansas. Arrangements were with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
