Margaret Lou Garner Brennan, 88, of Ash Flat, Arkansas was born December 13, 1932 and passed away August 1, 2021. She was the daughter of Thomas Windom and Isa Mae Godwin Garner and so proud of the fact that her family first arrived to Ash Flat in 1823. Margaret had worked as the administrative director of Brennan Hamilton Tool & Die in downtown San Francisco, California. Her hobbies included fine needlepoint, watching old Western movies, and adventurous traveling. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Hardy (Arkansas) United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, James Joseph “Jim” Brennan; her parents, Tom and Isa Garner; a brother, Johney Eugene Garner; two sisters, Atha Claudine Heflin and Willie Mae Pratt; a special sister-in-law, Willie Ann Horrell Garner; brothers-in-law, Al Heflin and Dick Pratt; nephews, Steven Heflin and The Honorable Judge Thomas Linn “Tom” Garner. Survivors include her family: a brother, Elijah Linn Garner; a niece, Dr. Julea Garner (Brien Nix Hall); grandniece, Lillie Garner Hall; Jim & Marlene Sawyer; the Lon Walheim family: Lance & Laura, Mark & Sandy, Kurt & Meredith, Rex & Margie, Karen, and their four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; special friends: Maxine Russell, Marilyn Lynn, Fred & Janet Lamb, and Helen Gratsch. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 5 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland, Arkansas with Kay Brogdon and Brien Nix Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat. Pallbearers will be Fred Goodwin, Dale Godwin, Mike Nix, Johnny Carter, Jay Burgess, and Marty Goodwin. Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. David Kauffman, Kurt Bratcher, Dr. David Jennings, Bro. John Hodges, and Dr. Austin Gilbreath.
