Lula May Avery, 91, of Violet Hill (Lacrosse), Arkansas, was born February 3, 1928, in Fort Covington, New York. She passed away September 14, 2019, at Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehab Center. Lou worked as a secretary in a steel factory and had served in the U.S. Army. She was a member of the Ladies Fleet Reserve #251 and enjoyed sewing and loved painting. Survivors include her husband, Maynard Leonard Avery, of the home; her daughter, Michelle Avery, of Violet Hill; her sister, Ruthie Spivey, of Farmville, Virginia; four grandchildren: Jennifer (John) and Julie (Rudy) of Virginia, Samantha (Austin) of New Madrid, Missouri, and Emma of Batesville, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jillian, and Falynn; many other relatives and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Clarence Gardner, and a daughter, Donna Dufresne. The family will have services at a later date.
