Everett "Larry" Ratliff of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away August 14, 2019, at the age of 76. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Dorthy Ratliff; son, Larry Dean Ratliff; and his parents, Everett R. and Evelyn (Young) Ratliff. Survivors include his son, Brian Ratliff of Hardy; daughter, Angela Ratliff of Ash Flat; sister, Jolene (Pete) Rogers of Florida; brothers, Gary Ratliff of Ravenden, Travis (Sarah) Young of Hardy, David (Bobbie) Young of Hardy, and Dennis Young of Williford; granddaughters, Sissy (Josh) Gray of Williford, Kelly (Nick) Alphin of Pocahontas, and Josie Ratliff of Hardy; four great-grandchildren: Croston Gray, Canaan Gray, Raelyn Alphin, and Eden Gray. Larry was born July 5, 1943, in Sharp County, Arkansas. He and Dorthy were united in marriage January 9, 1964. He was employed as a pipeline welder before becoming self-employed as an owner of Ratliff Logging and Sawmill. He will be remembered as a man who had great pride in his family. He was especially fond of his great-grandchildren. Larry was a hard worker, rarely seen without grease-stained clothes and calloused hands. He was an excellent mechanic and welder, and he was known as one of the best sawyers in the country. One of Larry's greatest passions was being involved in his family's racing endeavors. He never missed a race, whether it be the dirt track or the drag strip. Visitation of family and friends will be Friday, August 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland. A graveside burial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, in Bradford Cemetery near Ravenden.
