Imo Gipson

Imo Ruth Gipson, 92, of rural Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the Nursing & Rehab Center in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was born February 17, 1928 in rural Sharp County, Arkansas to Mack and Ruth (Hill) Wilkerson. Imo was a member of Pleasant Ridge Community Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She was a listener and responded to whatever needs her family and friends might have. One of her favorite activities was operating her CB radio as "Screamer". She also loved singing gospel songs and playing her guitar. Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wess Howard Gipson; infant children: Donald Howard, Clara Ruth, & Norma Jean; sons: Sidney Howard, Ronnie Wesley, & Ted Gipson; a daughter, Betty Sue Duncan; sons-in-law, Roger Bristow and Robert (Button) Duncan; brothers: Leo, Cleo (Dub), Leroy (Japy), & Angel George; sisters: Willy, Darline, Geraldine (Diddle), & Leland. Survivors include her daughters, Diane Bristow of Lynn, Arkansas and Dessie (Tim) Smith of Pocahontas; 11 grandchildren: Shannon Bettis (caregiver), Tonya Hankins, Holly Ruth Schoenfeld, Rodney Bristow, Howard Gipson, Jeannie Phillips, T. J. Smith, Wess (Rooster) Gipson, James Michael Smith, Taylor Bristow, & Sarah Busch; 14 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and good friends. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Jim Pagan officiating. Pallbearers: Howard Gipson, Rodney Bristow, Wess Gipson, T. J. Smith, James Smith, & Bo Dean Schoenfeld Honorary Pallbearers: Dylan Schoenfeld, Larry Pagan, Tommy Pagan, & Billy Joe Gann Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
