Howard Isbell

Former Bay, Arkansas resident John Howard Isbell Jr., 74, of Hardy, Arkansas passed away January 3, 2023 at White River Health in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born November 2, 1948 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to John "Jerry" Howard Sr. and Reva Walker Isbell. He graduated from Bay High School in 1966. Howard served his country in the U.S. Army and worked maintaining parks and recreational facilities for the city of Jonesboro and as a custodian at Arkansas State University. Howard enjoyed time with family, especially sitting beside The River, and he loved listening to the radio baseball games of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Sandy; a brother, Tim; and one nephew, Deven. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Gail Ottoson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Charley of Jonesboro and Will of Hardy; three sisters: Mondene Hill of Ravenden, Arkansas, Ann Bothe of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Mae Hertig of Warrensburg, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins. No services are planned at this time.
