Freddy “Fred” Roy Wooten, 71, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away July 11, 2019, in a Jonesboro hospital. He was born April 9, 1948, in Mounds, Arkansas. Fred was active at Westview Baptist Church in Paragould and in the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and had worked quite successfully as a self-employed aircraft mechanic. He loved to fish and play games, especially if he was winning. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Roy and Velma Virginia (Phillips) Wooten, and a brother, Trent. Survivors include his wife, Claudette (Knudsen) Wooten; sons: Billy (Lisa) Wooten, James (Michelle) Carrier, and David Todd (Blair Beckman); daughters, Vicky (Tony) Townsend, Rebecca (John) Edwards, Danielle (Corey) Ragsdale, and Melissa (Chris) Collins; 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (with 2 on the way); a sister, Joyce Dunham; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and good friends. Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. in Westview Baptist Church, 701 W. Morgan St., Paragould, AR 72450, with Bro. Mark Reeves officiating. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
