Delthafleta Smith

Delthafleta Smith of Highland, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at the age of 91 in her home. She was born November 8, 1931 in Williford, Arkansas to Jesse James and Flora Morgan Hammock. She worked in retail sales from an early age in Hardy, Arkansas (Horrell's Store), Highland (the family-owned gas service station), and Ash Flat, Arkansas (Walmart). Her management and people skills were exceptional because she treated everyone with respect. Mrs. Smith was a member of Highland Assembly of God and prayed daily for her family and friends and always for those in need. Hobbies included her passion for flowers and her yard. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and her beloved husband, Jesse James Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Mitzi Carmon (David) of Springdale, Arkansas; her son, Gary Smith (Wilma) of Highland; two grandchildren, Jordan Carmon (Trina) and Morgan Blais (Chaz); four great-grandchildren, Haytham Jesse & Emery Mae Carmon and Jaxon Ryan & Beckham James Blais; a brother, Philip Hammock (Brenda) of Highland; many other relatives and good friends. Visitation of family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, January 30 in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland. The funeral service will follow at noon with Jim Cox officiating. Burial will be in Turkey Pen Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Chuck Murphy, Clint Wiles, Rob Long, Mike Smith, Rick Crook, and Chad Murphy. Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
