Conrad Long

November 17, 1937 — June 30, 2023

Conrad Long, 85, of the Liberty Hill community near Hardy, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born November 17, 1937 in Hardy to Robert Alvis and Clara Mae Rogers Long. Conrad became a successful farmer, master electrician, and sincerely caring U.S. mail carrier; he was a Christian by faith and example. He loved baseball: personally playing, avidly watching and listening to the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks, and encouraging family members to do the same. Conrad was a fan! He also loved people with whom he could visit, talk, and tell stories. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayburn; and his wife of more than fifty years, Barbara. Survivors include his children: Kimberly "Shelly" Redwine, Claudia (Dustin) Trivitt, Bryan (Jennifer) Long, and Mark (Lisa) Long; grandchildren: Chrystal Birkhead, Kurt Long, Katie (Jody) Wood, Tiffany (Tyler) Phillips, Mallory, Addison, and Trystan Long, Dalaney (Rustin) Wooldridge, Emily, Riley, Mason, and Timber Trivitt; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Nathaniel, and Isabelle Birkhead, Whitleigh and Rhett Wood, Ally Phillips, and Prairie Jo Wooldridge; a brother, Hassel (Lori) Long; and many other relatives and good friends. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas. Visitation of family and friends will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Trivitt and Wayne, Malcolm, Scott, Michael, and Jeff Long. Honorary pallbearers are fellow mail carriers, valued friends, and relatives: Jim Counts, Wes Austin, Ginger Hall, Leonard Smith, Joe Taylor, Kenneth Groves, Hassel Long, and members of the Ash Flat High School Class of 1956.
