Cecil William Allmon of Hardy, Arkansas, formerly of Alton, Missouri, was born March 10, 1921 in New Liberty, Missouri and passed away December 26, 2020 at the age of 99 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hester Bradshaw Allmon, and his wife, Lorene Sisco Allmon. Survivors include his children: Glenn (Janie) Allmon, Phyllis (Rick) Walton, Patricia (Billy Joe) French, Bill (Cheryl) Allmon, and Shirley (Troy) Earls; numerous generations of grandchildren; a brother, James Harold (Jo) Allmon, and a sister, Opal Allmon Andrews; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Allmon was a proud WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Corps as a hospital medic and pharmacy technician. He then worked in the timber industry for many years and later was a long-time devoted school bus driver for the Irish Wilderness to Alton School route. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the Eleven Point River and the natural resources of Oregon and Shannon counties in Missouri. Graveside service and interment of Mr. Allmon’s ashes will be in Bailey Cemetery near Alton at a date to be announced later.
