Carolyn Frances Lewis, 87, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas passed away August 12, 2021 at EagleCrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born March 15, 1934 in Dike, Iowa to Fred and Wilma Kessler Kalkwarf. Carolyn had worked in Payless Shoe Store and retired after 25 years. She and her husband moved to Cherokee Village upon his retirement after living most of their lives in Iowa. Carolyn loved arts & crafts, fishing, gardening, and some travel. The most important times were spent with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford; two daughters, Kathryn Van Lieu and Janice Carpenter; a granddaughter, Teresa Cochran; and a great-granddaughter, Britney Ann Piper. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hanna (Len) of Mtn. View, Arkansas and Valinda Scott (Lyle) of Stout, Iowa; a son, Michael Lewis (Sheryl) of Ash Flat; eight grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Jeremy, Tonya, Ryan, Gaylen, Garen, and Gareld; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Carlson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; many other relatives and good friends. Visitation of family and friends will be Friday, August 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Arkansas. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cherokee Village. Pallbearers include Jason Lewis, Christian Harrison, Nick Peters, Tristen Newell, Daniel Lewis, and Lyle Scott.
