Billy Don Slayton was born in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas, July 27, 1938, to Joe and Barbara Stevens Slayton. Surrounded by his family, he entered into rest February 7, 2021, at his home in Hardy, Arkansas. Bill was united in marriage to Anna Corter on February 14, 1959, and to this union three children were born. He was a member of Ward Street church of Christ and had been active as a policeman serving in law enforcement for many years. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a man who always put his family first. Survivors include three children: Paula Slayton Gann (Thomas) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Alan Slayton (Ambi) of Paragould, Arkansas, and Dennis Slayton of Hardy; nine grandchildren: Samantha (Joey), Joshua, Brett (Jamie), Quinn, Tyler (Mallory), Jaggar, Erin (Jim), Taylor (Colton), and Lucas (Jessie); nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters, Elizabeth Bradford of Paducah, Kentucky and Sally Powers (Randy) of Paragould; brothers, Richard Slayton (Delores) of Pocahontas, Arkansas and David Slayton (Barb) of Grand Blanc, Michigan; many other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna; his parents; sisters: Mary Miner, Lula Vaughn Taylor, and Barbara Jo Slayton; and brothers, Danny and Robert "Bob" Slayton. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2021, in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time. Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
