Austin "Bird" Ray Smith, 27, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away March 3, 2021 in Highland, Arkansas. He was born May 10, 1993 in Batesville, Arkansas. Austin had worked in home construction. He loved being outside with his daughters and enjoyed working with wood. As a youngster he played football at Wayne County Middle School in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He also loved to fish, hunt, and camp. Austin was preceded in death by his father, Frankie Smith, and a nephew, Brandon Lowe. Survivors include his mother, Tina (Mark) Cochran of Waynesboro; his wife, Karla Shoemake Smith of Cherokee Village; two daughters, Aidalynn Jade and AnnaLee Marie Smith of Cherokee Village; a son, Soloman Gabriel Smith of Waynesboro; four sisters: Jeannie Slisher Smith of Tallahassee, Florida, Laura Smith-Arnold of Batesville, Krystal (Dustin) Scarbrough Shoemake of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Amy Smith of Batesville; five brothers: Christopher (Kenny) Jackson of Ohio, David Anthony and Justin Smith of Batesville, Coyleton (Ashley) Cochran of Mathersville, Mississippi, and Court Cochran of Waynesboro; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and good friends. Memorial services will be at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven and Sammy Humphreys, Justin Haigwood, Dwayne Hamm, Austin Patterson, John James, and Dalton Cochran. In lieu of flowers and plants, donations to the family will be greatly appreciated and may be left at Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland.
