Anthony DiIorio

Anthony J. DiIorio, Sr., 82, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, formerly of Las Vegas, passed away March 11, 2019, in Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born June 1, 1936, in Rhode Island. Anthony was married for 62 years to Pauline with whom he traveled the entire United States of America. He served his country on duty in the U. S. Coast Guard for six years and was an active member of the Republican Party. In 32 years he “flipped” 27 houses. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Augustus Society as well as attaining Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. Retiring 12 years ago to Cherokee Village from working as Vice-President of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Tony became a volunteer firefighter further serving the community in which he lived. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Pauline J. DiIorio; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony J. (Briana M.) DiIorio, Jr. of Cherokee Village; daughter, Dawn L. DiIorio, of Massachusetts. He was PaPa to six grandchildren: Brian of Cherokee Village, Jessica (Shawn) of Arkansas, Kal & Kris of Washington, Ivorie & Hollyann of Nevada, and four great-grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews all across the USA along with a host of other relatives and good friends. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m., St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cherokee Village, with Fr. Amal and Fr. Nazarus officiating. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Knights of Columbus, Chapter 6969 and Cherokee Village Fire Department. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."  ~ John 14:2-3 (NIV)
