Cecilia Orosz

February 15, 1923 — January 18, 2018

Cecilia Mary Orosz of Highland, Arkansas, peacefully departed this life January 18, 2018, at her home surrounded by her beloved children. She was born February 15, 1923, to George and Katherine (Iven) Bornhoft in Stoneham, Colorado, and was baptized on April 1, 1923, at St. John's Catholic Church. She married the love of her life, Zolton Orosz, February 21, 1944. Cecilia dedicated her life to God, and her abiding faith in Him was her guidance to become a dedicated and loving wife, a kind and caring mother, and a great friend. Her legacy of love for God, home, and family will be forever felt in hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Zolton; son, James; infant daughter, Celeste; parents; sisters: Francis Grace and Sister (Imelda) Elizabeth; brothers, Iven John Henry and John William. She leaves to mourn her passing: daughters and their spouses, Mary Ruth Wiles and Kenneth, Susan Carol Jones and Larry, Joanne Marie Satterfield and Loyd, Georgia Catherine Harris and David, Karen Cecilia Burton and Dennis, Therese Szerena Crosby and Philip, and Paula Kay Orosz; sons and their spouses, Michael Raymond Orosz and Gale, John Patrick Orosz and Christina, and Thomas Lee Orosz and Debbie. She wrote that when she experienced a glorious hug from her grandchildren it reminded her that God was surrounding her with His presence. She is mourned by 65 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren, and she so loved them all. Cecilia felt blessed to have her church family and countless friends who mourn her passing. She was a faithful member of St. Michael's Catholic Church for 66 years and was grateful for the many years she was called to serve there. She was a catechist for years, Director of Religious Education, Extra Ordinary Minister, Lector, Chair of the 50th anniversary celebration of St. Michael's and the 150th anniversary celebration of the Catholic church in Arkansas. She was most appreciative of her gift from the Holy Spirit for writing prose and poetry with so many poems, cards, and prayers that are treasured gifts from her. She made everyone feel loved and special just by being in her presence. She had such profound love for God and church that her spiritual legacy was to teach her children to put their trust in the Lord, and through adversity and pain, God would reveal miracles everyday if we would open our eyes to see and acknowledge His presence. Her tenderness, compassion, kindness, but most of all her forgiveness taught us how to love and be loved. When we think of her passing, our hearts soar, our souls cry, but we ultimately all smile because one day we shall see her once more. Services to celebrate the life of Cecilia Orosz will be Tuesday, Jan. 23, with visitation 5-7 p.m. at Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland followed by the Rosary; Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Church followed by burial at Orosz Family Tree Cemetery.
