William "Bill" Gerald Adams, 71, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, in Jonesboro. He served in the U.S. Army for 27 years and finished his working career teaching high school ROTC in Alabama and Arkansas. He started programs in Trumann, Harrisburg, and Brookland. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Clyde Adams, and four sisters: Barbara, Juanita, Marie, and Wilma. Survivors include his wife, Lyndia, of the home; daughter, Benita and grandson, Cody, both of Cherokee Village; two sisters: Wanda Pettyjohn of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brenda Garrett of Evansville, Indiana; as well as other relatives and many good friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, October 6, in the chapel of Tri-County Funeral Home at Highland, Arkansas. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Randolph Memorial Gardens at Pocahontas, Arkansas.
