Ruby M. Wade Jr.

August 30, 1929 — March 28, 2017

Ruby Martin Wade Jr. was born August 30, 1929, in Huntingdon, Tennessee, the oldest child of Ruby Martin and Carrie Ann (Burress) Wade. He went home to his eternal reward March 28, 2017, at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 28 days.

Junior was united in marriage to Clara Faye Cupples on March 9, 1953, in Corinth, Mississippi; she preceded him in death June 6, 2002. In January 1971 they moved with their four children from Chicago, Illinois, where he had worked for Moore Steel, to Hardy, Arkansas. In 1980 Junior became a driver for Arkansas Waste Recovery (IESI); retiring at age 82 after more than 30 years of service.

He loved his family, "strumming" on the guitar, singing, teaching his grandchildren to swim in Spring River, and, most importantly; serving God.

Ruby was united in marriage to Jewel Dean Setzer on November 1, 2003, in Maiden, North Carolina.

Bro. Wade will be remembered for serving as a trustee, deacon, and as a prayer warrior, supporting his church with tithes, offerings, and his presence.

He is survived by his wife, Jewel Wade of Ash Flat; children: Darrell Wade and wife, Pamela of Mammoth Spring, Nancy Hicks of Ozark, Missouri; David Wade and wife, Janet of Elkton, Kentucky, and Joseph Wade and wife, Joanna of Cherokee Village; twelve grandchildren: Jeremy (Jody) Wade, Nathan (Heather) Hicks, Richard (Kristi) Wade, Timothy Hicks, Kimberly (Johnny) Alexander, Bradley (Amy) Hicks, Jennifer Wade, Justin Hicks, Micah Wade, Stefanie (Daniel) Brink, Candace (Andrew) Tushner, and Victoria Wade; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Brinda (Sammy) Bowman of Lexington, Tennessee, and Faye Hodges of Bentonville; four brothers: Clinton (Mayjel) Wade of Jacks Creek, Tennessee, Charles (Eileen) Wade of Lakewood, California, Ray Wade and Leon (Wanda) Wade, of Huron, Tennessee; three stepdaughters: Kathy (Nelson) Sherrill, Shelia (Scott) Rogers, and Teresa Setzer, all of North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life and mother of their children, Faye; son-in-law, Len Hicks; three sisters: Magdalene Beecham, Mary Nell Page, and Geneva Ramey Ferguson; and four infant siblings: Hassie, J.B., Larry, and Carrie.

Visitation of family and friends was Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Word of Life Tabernacle in Hardy. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, at the church with Bro. Mike Price and Rev. Sammy Bowman officiaing. Music: Jeremy, Jody, and Mariah Wade, Carolyn Morimanno, Andrew Tushner, Mark Wade, and Charla Ramey Burnette.

Burial followed in Eagle's Rest Cemetery near Wirth, Arkansas, with full military honors.

Pallbearers: Richard, Micah, and Jerren Wade, Timothy and Bradley Hicks, and Konnor and Jared Alexander.

Arrangements entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
