Glendel Dee Galloway, 73, of Cherokee Village, passed away February 19, 2017. He was born September 10, 1943, in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Glen met and married Nancy I. Sternitzky February 11, 1967, at Dover AFB, Delaware, where they were both stationed. They celebrated their 50th anniversary just last week. Glen was in the Air Force for 20 years and retired as a MSGT. While both were stationed in England, they visited 20 countries. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a civilian with the the Navy department and the Department of Animal Control for 10 years in San Diego. They moved to Arkansas with Nancy's mother in 2002. Just two years ago they traveled to their 48th state in their RV with their dog, Toby. Glen was devoted to his wife, Nancy. He loved their many dogs and cats that they shared during their life together. They loved to travel in their RV visiting their many friends from their time in the Air Force and the 23 years they lived in San Diego. Wisconsin was a frequent stop, visiting Nancy's brother, Larry and wife Karen and their son, Joel and Bethany and their family. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Mary Galloway; brothers, Hershall, Dale, and Kenneth; sister, Clara Belle; and father-in-law, Walter Sternitzky. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; brother, J.D. (Ruth) Galloway; sisters, Virginia "Ginger" Lunyou, Joy Galloway, and Geneva "Plum" (Dave) DeVore; mother-in-law, Beth Sternitzky; brother-in-law, Larry and wife Karen and their daughter, Wendy (Ted) Kohlmann and family and their son, Joel (Bethany) Sternitzky and family; and his beloved Pomeranian, Toby. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, followed by a luncheon at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for their veterinarian, Dr. Kathy Mills, for the care of her husband, Dr. Bob Mills. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
