Franklin Dean Cook, 82, of Thayer, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri. He was born May 24, 1934, at Pilot Rock, Oregon. Frank served his country with the U.S. Army and then, after 33 years with General Electric, he retired, living in Idaho and Arizona before moving to Missouri in 2016. He loved hunting, fishing, and the game shows "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price is Right." He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Margaret Cockran Cook; siblings, Billy and Bob Cook, Delbert and Eugene Kerns, and Ernestine Holtz. Survivors include his wife, Jean Ross Cook of the home; children: Diane Hoffman (Cecil Holeker) of Stanton, California, Julie (Ted) Galloway of Wyandotte, Michigan, Laura (Rick) Barber of Kelseyville, California, Sharon Morris of Kamiah, Idaho, Ronald Smith of Clarkston, Washington, and Robert Smith of Thayer, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Connie) Cook, and a sister, Zelpha Gysbers; many other relatives and good friends. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, at Word of Life Tabernacle in Hardy with Bro. Mike Price and Bro. Joe Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Eagle's Rest Cemetery located north of Hardy on Hwy. 175 near Wirth. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
