Harriet Green, 98, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away October 9, 2016, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. She was born January 29, 1918, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Green was a homemaker and member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a volunteer at the Cherokee Village hospital, a member of the Sharp County Library Board, and the founder of Life Line in Cherokee Village. She enjoyed dancing and needlepoint, was an avid bridge player, and was actively involved in the community as a Red Cross volunteer and Girl Scout leader. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, John Peter and Alice Claire VanderHeiden Schneider; her husband, Eli Wilson Green; a daughter, Judith Ellen Garens; a brother and a sister. Survivors include her daughter, Susan (William) Barnidge of Cherokee Village; four grandchildren: Kerry, Christopher, Kelly, and Bradley; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Harriet's elegance, grace, storytelling, and humor will be remembered and greatly missed. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. November 26, 2016, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Cherokee Village.
