Charles S. Mudford, 81, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at his home. He was born March 5, 1935, at Texarkana, Arkansas, to Avon and Lottie Johnson Mudford. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 18 years and did three tours in Vietnam. Charles became a carpenter and builder. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jessie; an infant daughter; and a brother, James. Survivors include his life partner, Elizabeth, of the home; a son, Charles Jr. of Panama City, Florida; brothers, Jerry of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Hollice of Bakersfield, California; and sisters, Donna (Carroll) Frizzell of Sylva, North Carolina, and Lurline of McKinleyville, California. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. September 10, 2016, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
