Marland Ray Petit, 88, of Ash Flat, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born April 21, 1928, at Westville, Illinois, to Earl and Eunice Martin Petit. Marland was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as Chief Petty Officer. He played any stringed instrument at Hardy Junction Music Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Belva, who he married in Westville, Illinois, on May 30, 1948; children, Fred (Sharon) Petit of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Cindy (Lynn) Adcock of Lakeside, California, Becky Thomson of Ash Flat, Arkansas, Carol (James) Barber of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Lori (Sean) King of Ramona, California; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
