Marva Jean Patton Bledsoe went to be with her Lord May 12, 2016. She was born March 30, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee. Jean was a wonderful friend to many people and a loving wife and mother. She spent eight years traveling the United States with the love of her life, Virgil Bledsoe, before settling down in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Her mischievous nature and enjoyment of life endeared her to all who met her. She was a talented artist, a master gardener, and a master craftsman. She leaves behind four children who cherish their many memories: Joseph Bledsoe and his wife Joan of Bartlett, Tennessee; Timothy Bledsoe of Cordova, Tennessee; Patricia Wright and her husband John of Memphis; and Elizabeth Darby and her husband Dale of Nesbit, Mississippi. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Shirley Woodard, and a nephew, Russell Woodard. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church.
