Captivating storyteller, serious but fun-loving fisherman and hunter, and internationally-known television personality, Garry "Crowbar" Russell, 61, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016. He was born June 21, 1954, in Hawaii to Jackie (Talley) and Jerry Russell and graduated from Highland High School in 1972. "Crowbar" was an active member of Ash Flat Crossroads Baptist Church and was involved in real estate sales as well as the hunting and fishing industries. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Latisha Russell; children, Shane (Alanna) Russell of Hardy, Denver Wilson of Ash Flat, Jessica Russell and James (Marcy) Wilmans, all of Mountain Home, Justin Gage and Matt Gage, both of Hardy; five grandchildren; and a multitude of other relatives and good friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, in the A. L. Hutson Memorial Center at Highland. Visitation will begin at noon. Pallbearers will be Bill Haney, Jason Russell, Justin Gage, Matt Gage, Eutah Russell, James Wilmans, Denver Wilson, and Shane Russell. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Haney, Brian Ratliff, Bill McFadden, Kerry Evans, Tommy Garner, Kurt Evans, Stanley Haney, Carroll Caldwell, Uncle Al, Aaron Goodman, Charlie Horrell, Ernie Rose, Steve Garner, Randal Harris, Floyd Russell, James Arnold, Sonny Dean, and Russell Goodman. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
