Charles A. Webb, 72, of Hardy, Arkansas, formerly of Blytheville, was released from his earthly chains and moved beyond them a free and healthy man to be with the Lord on April 4, 2016. Born in Etowah, Arkansas, on May 2, 1943, to Wylie Joe and Beatrice Brothers Webb, he was given the childhood nickname of Cotton because of his near white hair. This is the name that most knew him by and that stayed with him until the end. For many years Cotton enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sharing his love of the outdoors with them. He was well-known for his love of fishing at Reelfoot Lake with his grandchildren and nephews. Cotton enjoyed hunting with his brothers and had been a founding member of Hungerrun Hunting Club in Monticello, Arkansas. Cotton had also owned Quality Furniture in Blytheville and Spring River Furniture in Cherokee Village. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorbah Donner and Susie Moody, both of Blytheville, and Jo Ann Halsell of Panama City, Florida. Cotton is survived by his ever-loving wife and constant companion, Teresa Langston Webb, of Hardy, whom he married on May 25, 2001; daughter, Cindy Henderson and husband Gary of Charleston, South Carolina; step-son, Larry Hemphill and fiancee Angela Foote of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren, Michael Henderson of Costa Mesa, California, Brittney Henderson of Charlotte, South Carolina, and Devin and Wayden Hemphill of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Also left to remember his crazy antics and constant jokes are his brothers and sisters, Bill and Betty Webb of Monticello, Dee and Sandra Webb of DeWitt, Arkansas, Tom and Paula Webb of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Dave and Wanda Webb of Bay, Arkansas, Sandra Harlan of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Hope and Gene Bush of Pensacola, Florida. As Cotton was just one of the ten children born to his parents, he had almost too many nephews and nieces to count. Cotton was always a fan of good times, family, and friends, so his family has decided to have a Celebration of Life on April 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at River Bend Restaurant in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. Interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
