Dorothy Louise Moth Sparks, 86, of Pecatonica, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Ash Flat, Arkansas. A loving and dedicated mother, she was born May 25, 1929, in Seward, Illinois, to Bert and Gladys Nolan Moth. She loved being with her family and friends, reading books, working in the yard, planting flowers, and traveling--short trips and long. Dorothy lived most of her life in Pecatonica graduating from high school in 1947 and retiring from Ipsen Ceramics in 1993 after 26 years. She married Robert Allen Sparks on July 1, 1950, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They had four children: a daughter, Roxanne (Phillip) Helton of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, and sons, Rodney Sparks, Robert (Rita) Sparks of Rockford, Illinois, and Mitchell Sparks of Hardy, Arkansas. Dorothy has two grandsons: Tyler (Natalie) Helton of Novato, California, and Eric (Brittany) Helton of Racine, Wisconsin; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rae Helton. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Rodney. No immediate services are planned. Interment of her ashes in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery at Seward, Illinois, will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
