Karen Jane Chase-Smith, 65, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, died January 6, 2016, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born September 3, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. Karen was a housewife who loved her family; she was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village and enjoyed casinos, cruises, the Elks Club, and playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Gloria Cartwright Chase, and her husband, Stephen Roy Smith. Survivors include her children, Steven (Karen) Smith of Casco, Michigan, and Michelle (Michael) Adams of Chesterfield, Michigan; five grandchildren; her twin brother, Karl Chase, and her brother, Charles Chase, both of Troy, Michigan; special relatives, Jake Gordon and Joan Davis; special friends: Kathy Machalski, Joyce Speir, Diane Simpson, and Margo VanGampelaere; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Services will also be held in Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
