Bob "Stretch" Stroud, 74, of Hardy, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born February 24, 1941, in Tonasket, Washington. Bob retired from Century Telephone after working for 32 years. He was married to his wife Mary, who considered him to be her "best boyfriend" for 52 years. He was a Mason and, in his younger years, in the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Judd Stroud; an infant daughter, Leigh Ann; and a son, Randy. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; his son, Jeff (Daralee) Stroud of Mountain Home, Arkansas; brothers, Bill Stroud of Salem, Arkansas, and Jim Stroud of Pittsburg, Kansas; sisters, Mary Anne Burleson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Evalyn Hunt of Salem, Arkansas; grandchildren: Cody Seward, Candace Seward, and Hannah Rikard; great-grandchild, Emilee Seward; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and good friends. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland, Arkansas, with Danny Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery located in Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 12, at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Jeff Stroud, Mike Floyd, Cody Seward, Billy Mac Haney, Jim Haney, and Jim Stroud. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
