Howard Wayne Morgan, 72, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born October 27, 1942, in Hardy. Howard was a heavy equipment operator for more than forty years and retired in 2002. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lena Morgan; one son, Mitchell Wayne Morgan; one sister, Magdaline Payne; one brother, Ray Gene Morgan; and grandparents, Charlie and Wilma Mann. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Morgan of the home; four sons, Anthony and Jimmy Morgan of Central City, Kentucky, Billy (Paige) Gilbreath and Bobby Gilbreath of Hardy; one daughter, Phyllis Gilbreath of Hardy; one sister, Anna Jean Mullins of Hardy; six grandchildren and three great-grandchilden; many nieces and nephews; and many, many other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be from noon until funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, in the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel at Highland with Johnny Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Turkey Pen Cemetery. Pallbearers include Bruce Phillips, David Honey, Corey Dietsche, Charlie McCormick, Ronnie Green, and Steve Garner. Honorary pallbearers are J.B. Dill, Bill Morris, Chase Gilbreath, Garrett Kissinger, and Dustin Morgan. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association.
