Paul Edward Gibbs, 77, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born March 11, 1938, in Karnack, Texas, to William Calvin and Dola Pauline McHam Gibbs. Paul was a truck driver and a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Chester; a granddaughter, Lisel Weiderman; and a grandson, Cory Davis. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Gibbs; sons, Rojelio Cantu, Jr. of Eufaula, Alabama, and John T. Dryden of Little River Academy, Texas; daughters, Dola Marie Gibbs of Palm Desert, California, Kendra F. Schmidt of Moody, Texas, and Bamba L. Davis of Hazen, Arkansas; brothers, Albert Owen Gibbs of Shreveport, Louisiana, and James Calvin Gibbs of Leesville, Louisiana; sister, Dola Lois Wheeler of Hanover, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Private graveside services with military honors will be at a later date in Giddings, Texas. The family sends a special thanks to the staff of Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
