Janice Anita "Mimi" Howard, 66, of Agnos, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born in Bakersfield, California, on August 8, 1948, to Thelma (Davenport) and William Robert "Dub" Garner. Jan was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She had worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother. Survivors include her husband Jerry of the home; her daughters Dana (Terry) Watson of Highland and Lea Ann Bailey of Cherokee Village; her brother Tommy Garner of Hardy; five grandchildren: Amber Watson, Chance Bailey, LeAlyson Bailey, Ashlie Watson, and Cade Bailey; many nieces and nephews; and a sincere and loving host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 20, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village with Larry White officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Ash Flat. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service. Pallbearers include Mike Dover, Dennis Holloway, Willard McCollum, Jerry Morris, Bill Treat Jr., Tommy Muston, Bill Loomis, and Mike Byars. Honorary pallbearer is Max Denton. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
