Betty Joyce Fletcher Brown, 86, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 19, 1928, to Joseph Nelson and Ella Mae Haney Fletcher. She was a devoted housewife and mother and loved playing bridge with her friends. Mrs. Brown was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey Brown, a daughter-in-law Jonell Dickinson, a brother Joseph Fletcher, and her sisters Dorothy Whitley, Ruth Ferlisi, and Sydney Earl. Survivors include her son James Dickinson of Birmingham, Alabama, and her daughters Deborah (Gary) Hubert of Sugar Grove, Illinois, and Brenda Brown of Birmingham, Alabama; a sister Clara Jean Hudson of California; a special great-granddaughter Whitley Cook; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. No services are planned at this time, but in the springtime when the dogwoods are blooming in her hometown, her ashes will be scattered by the family. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.
