Royal Howard Barber

Royal Howard Barber, age 91, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away July 5, 2014 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born March 20, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio to Howard Royal Barber and Salma “Seitz”. He was a supervisor of Stationary Engineers at the Toledo Board of Education and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village, a life member of the American Legion, Cherokee Village Men’s Golf Association, and retired from the Volunteer Fire Department. Royal was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy as a 3 class fire control. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Donna Barber and five sisters. Survivors include his wife Maryann Barber of the home, four sons, Royal Barber Jr. and wife Pam of Toledo, Ohio, Wayne Barber of Fresno, California, Gary Barber and wife Shirlee of Florida, Scott Barber and wife Robin of Ohio, one daughter, Kay Ide and husband Jerry of Virginia, Step Children, Matthew Wisniewski and wife Maria of Illinois, Joann Colwell of Cherokee Village, Joyce Ramsdell and husband Robin of Cherokee Village, two brothers, Jerry Barber and Bob Barber, 16 Grandchildren, 7 Step Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas, with Brian Pummill officiating. Arrangements by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
