Percy G. Root, Jr.

Percy G. Root, Jr., age 79 of Highland, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born June 30, 1934 in Jackson, Mississippi to Percy and Claire (Hamlett) Root, Sr. He was a truck driver for many years. Percy was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathleen Root; two brothers, Henry and Ben Root; and one grandchild, Nikki Root. Survivors include three sons, Peppi Root and wife Sherry of Southaven, Mississippi, Tim Root and wife Patti of Marion, Arkansas, and Mike Root and wife Susie of Marion, Arkansas; four brothers, Gene, Joe, John, and Jack Root; three sisters, Martha Baker, Ruth Benton, and Betty Wyman; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the Crittenden Memorial Park located in Marion, Arkansas. Graveside Services at the Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas will begin at 3:00 p.m on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel.
