Bertha "Bert" Wakeham

Bertha “Bert” Wakeham, age 90 of Cherokee Village, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat. She was born February 14, 1923 at Randall, Iowa to Martin A. and Christiana (Halvorson) Olson. She was a homemaker and a Charter Member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Wakeham; four brothers, Magnus Olson, Martin Olson, Herman Olson, and Bud Olson; three sisters, Hilda Hart, Alvina Barkema, and Jennie Headley; one grandson, Craig Wakeham; and one great granddaughter, Megan Wakeham. Survivors include two sons, Mark Wakeham and wife Barbara of Cherokee Village and Robert Wakeham and wife Linda of Fayetteville, Georgia; one daughter, Linda Miller and husband Conrad of Maumelle, Arkansas; one sister, Jean Rothfus of Little Rock, Arkansas; eleven Grandchildren; twelve Great Grandchildren;several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church located in Cherokee Village with Rev. Brian Pummill officiating. Interment will follow in the Peace Lutheran Columbarium with arrangements by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas. No Visitation is planned.
