Elsie M. Goad age 93 of Cherokee Village died Friday October 11, 2013 at a Salem hospital. She was born September 26, 1920 at Hammersmith, England to Harry Francis Sidney Cox and Margaret Alice Wellham Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of the Foothills Baptist Church in Hardy. She was very active in church functions. She was a war bride from England having been united in marriage to Irvin “Jack” Goad on May 4, 1946 in London, England. She and her husband moved to Cherokee Village in March 1974 from Tipton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Irvin “Jack” Goad. Survivors include three daughters, Helen Williams and her husband Jack of New Paris, Indiana, Jean Zimmerman and her husband Melvin of DePere, Wisconsin and Shirley Wannamaker of Phoenix, Arizona; a special daughter, Mary Deaver of Atlanta, Indiana; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Foothills Baptist Church in Hardy with Bro. Lynn Raby officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located in Highland with arrangements by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland.
