Mary Jo Edler, age 80, formerly of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in Goreville, Illinois. She was born March 31, 1932 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Roy and Edrys Kenner. Mary Jo worked as a hairstylist prior to retiring in 2000. She was a current member of Harbor Church of Marion, Illinois and a former member of both Highland Hills and Crossroads Baptist Churches in Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Richard Thompson and her second husband, Charles T. Edler; two sons, John R. Thompson, Jr. and James R. Thompson; one daughter, Pamela J. (Thompson) Olson; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Survivors include three sons, Michael B Thompson and wife Debbie of Spring Hill, Kansas, Steven L. Thompson and wife Kerry of Shawnee, Kansas, and David L. Thompson and wife Angie of Goreville, Illinois; one brother, Lee Kenner and wife Greta of Chapman Kansas; 18 Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will begin Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas with David Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located in Highland, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel.
