Elvira "Vera" Goodman

Elvira “Vera” Goodman, age 88 of Hardy, Arkansas, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born January 11, 1925 in Waterloo, Illinois to Charles and Emilie (Schmidt) Hofmann. Vera was a housewife and a loving mother. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Goodman; one son, Richard Goodman; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Goodman; one brother, Charles Hofmann; and two sisters, Louisa Hartman and Edna Klamp. Survivors include four sons, Dexter Goodman and wife Regina of Hardy, Arkansas, Johnny Goodman and wife Phyllis of Gainsville, Missouri, Henry Goodman of Hardy, Arkansas, and Vernon Goodman and wife Kathryn of Flippin, Arkansas; two daughters, Lillian Fuller and husband Carl of Ash Flat, Arkansas and Linda Smith and husband Larry of Ash Flat, Arkansas; one brother, Leroy Hofmann of Columbia, Illinois; two sisters, Olivia Goodman and Verona Goodman both of Waterloo, Illinois; 22 Grandchildren; 51 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will begin Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas with Pastor James Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery located in Hardy, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel.
