James “J.W.” William Hughes, 87, died December 3, 2012 in Fort Pierce, Florida. Mr. Hughes was born in Williford, Arkansas then moved to Michigan and moved to Ft. Pierce 15 years ago coming from Arkansas. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Plant Manager for General Motors for 33 years. He was a builder with L&H Homes, did volunteer work for Gator Trace Country Club and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Cornell Hughes of Ft. Pierce, FL; sons, Ron (Linda) Hughes of Hadley, MI, Mike (Terry) Hughes of Hadley, MI, Dennis (Sherry) Hughes of Hadley, MI, Lantie (Cynthia) Hughes of Ft. Pierce, FL and Wade (Angel) Hughes of Sedalia, MO; sisters, Evelyn Morris of Walnut Ridge, AR, Louise Moore of Ravenden, AR, and Eva Jo Goings of Hot Springs, AR; brothers, Bill Hughes of Clarkston, MI, Jack Hughes of Orlando, FL, and Gordon Hughes of Jonesboro, AR; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Wendell Hughes and brothers, Jerry and Vernon Hughes. Funeral Services will begin, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas with John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Opposition Cemetery located in Ravenden, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
