John Edward Dewey, age 74, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Ash Flat Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas. He was born November 1, 1938 in Sterling, Illinois to Bernard M. and Harriet (Huber) Dewey. He was retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Elks Club of Highland, Arkansas. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Glen Dewey. Survivors include his wife Reta K. Dewey of the home; one son, Tim Dewey and wife Mellisa of Damascus, Oregon; one brother, James Dewey and wife Shirley of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; seven Grandchildren; four Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas with Phillip Pinto officiating. There will be a gathering at the Highland Elks Lodge in honor of John Dewey after the service.
